Single, Pair, Set, or Top Only? What a Body Jewelry Listing Includes
Count complete jewelry separately from tops, posts, and accessories. Learn what single, pair, set, and top only mean before choosing your cart quantity.
Before you change the quantity in your cart, find out what one purchase includes. It might be a single complete stud, a pair, a bundle, or just a decorative top. The number of objects in a product photo does not settle that question.
Read two things together: how many items are supplied, and which parts come with them. Two decorative tops are different from two complete studs. A set containing three items might include two earrings and a tool.
First, identify what is being counted
“Single” and “pair” tell you a count, but you still need the noun. Is it a single earring, a single top, or a pair of posts? “Set” needs an itemized list; it does not tell you whether the pieces match or whether every item is jewelry.
A complete flat-back stud can have a decorative end and a receiving post. Those are components of one stud, not a pair of earrings. An offer labeled “top only” supplies the decorative end; look for a separate statement about the post before treating the offer as complete. “Post only” is a component offer too; do not assume the pictured decorative end comes with it.

Three listings that show why the wording matters
These are examples of how other brands describe their own offers, checked on September 16, 2026. They do not establish what a SENLANSP order contains.
- A single top, with the post separate. Peterson MADE’s Bezel Set Diamond Piercing Top is explicitly offered as one top, with the flatback post sold separately. Its instruction to order two for a pair therefore means two tops. It does not add two posts.
- A single-or-pair choice with posts included. The STUDS 14K Trinity Ball Flatback page offers Single and Pair selections and separately states that its flatback top comes with a post. Both pieces of information matter when counting complete studs.
- A set with jewelry and an accessory. The STUDS 14K Twinkle Set lists two different flatback studs and an insertion tool. Its three listed items are two earrings plus an accessory, not three earrings or two matching pairs.
Work backward from what you need
If you are shopping for two complete studs, use the confirmed contents to work out your order. If you already own posts confirmed to match the ends, you may only need the tops. The examples below are hypothetical counts, not package descriptions for this store.

Check the cart after making your selection. Some pages have a Single/Pair choice; others ask you to increase a quantity. Read the selected offer and the resulting order line together so you do not accidentally double a pair or buy only one top.
Use the gallery for appearance, not package contents
A gallery can show color choices, different angles, or a styled group. Neither a single-product cover nor a two-product image is a packing list. These catalog images illustrate appearance only; they are not a promise of a single, pair, or set supplied.
If the listing leaves a gap, ask for the total
Send the seller the product link, selected options, and intended cart quantity. A specific question is easier to answer than “Does this come as a pair?”
For this selected option at quantity 1, how many complete studs, decorative tops, and posts will I receive? Are any pictured parts or accessories sold separately?
